Mercedes legt Blancpain-kampioen Götz vast

Mercedes heeft Maximilian Götz een plek in de line-up voor de DTM gegeven. Götz, een 28-jarige Duitser, veroverde vorig jaar de titel in de Blancpain Sprint Series. "Racen in de DTM is een droom die uitkomt", stamelde hij.

Götz vervolgt: "Het moment dat ze me vertelden dat ik komend seizoen in de DTM uit zou komen zal ik niet snel vergeten. Het geeft veel voldoening dat de leiding van het motorsportprogramma bij Mercedes mijn prestaties opgemerkt hebben en belonen."

"Daaruit blijkt ook dat de route die ik afgelegd heb een uitstekende springplank richting de DTM kan zijn en hoe hoog het niveau van de coureurs in de Blancpain Series is. Ik ga er alles aan doen om ook in de DTM succesvol te zijn."
