Martin Tomczyk zet Audi wederom bovenaan in tweede training

Nadat Timo Scheider gisteren voor Audi de snelste tijd reed in de eerste vrije training, zette Martin Tomczyk het merk vanmorgen wederom bovenaan. In de tweede en laatste vrije training in Hockenheim bleef Tomczyk zijn merkgenoot Alexandre Premat voor.

Audi leek, net als gisteren, af te stevenen op een 1-2-3 in de training, maar daarvoor gooide Bruno Spengler roet in het eten. Timo Scheider stond lange tijd derde achter Martin Tomczyk en Alexandre Premat, maar in de slotminuut reed Spengler naar de derde tijd. De Canadese Mercedes-coureur kwam bijna twee tienden tekort op de tijd van Tomczyk.

Scheider zakte dus af naar de vierde plaats, gevolgd door Paul di Resta en de Audi's van Mike Rockenfeller en Oliver Jarvis. Gary Paffett reed de achtste tijd, maar hij was nog geen halve seconde langzamer dan Tomczyk. Snelste debutant was Miguel Molina op de twaalfde plaats, terwijl David Coulthard (vijftiende) wederom sneller was dan Ralf Schumacher (zestiende).
