Mattias Ekstrom leidt Audi een-twee in Valencia

Mattias Ekstrom heeft vanmiddag de DTM-race in Valencia op zijn naam geschreven. De Zweed bleef Audi-teamgenoot Martin Tomczyk voor in de slotfase van de race en pakte zo zijn eerste overwinning van het jaar. Bruno Spengler pakte voor Mercedes de laatste podiumplaats.

Ekstrom kwam goed weg bij de start en bouwde een solide voorsprong op ten opzichte van Mercedes' Bruno Spengler. Martin Tomczyk, die gisteren nog teleurgesteld was over zijn negende startplaats, kende een goede pitstop en klom op naar de tweede plaats. Ook Oliver Jarvis kwam ook voorbij aan Spengler en reed rond op de derde positie, voordat hij zijn Audi lang de kant moest zetten met problemen. Hierdoor kreeg Spengler zijn derde positie terug.

Vooraan kwam Tomczyk steeds dichterbij aan Audi-teamgenoot Ekstrom, maar kwam op de finish uiteindelijk vier tienden tekort op de overwinning. Ekstrom bleek net iets te sterk en reed als eerste onder finishvlag door. Spengler was de beste Mercedes op de derde plaats, gevolgd door Alexandre Premat, Timo Scheider, Paul di Resta en Mike Rockenfeller. Gary Paffett viel in de beginfase terug naar de tiende plaats, maar door de uitvalbeurt van Jarvis won de Brit een positie. In de laatste ronden passeerde de vice-kampioen ook Miguel Molina voor het laatste punt en eindigde zo als achtste.

David Coultharden Ralf Schumacher wisten beiden de finish niet te bereiken.

Beste ferjando12,

Wellicht was het je nog niet opgevallen, maar op onze frontpage staat voor elke week een TV-gids met hierin de uitzendingen van de betreffende raceklassen.

DTM was gisteren en vandaag op de Duitse zender ARD te bekijken!
