Bruno Spengler: "Mijn voorsprong is nog niet groot genoeg"

Bruno Spengler lijkt dit seizoen hard op weg naar zijn eerste titel in de DTM. Echter, ondanks zijn voorsprong van zestien punten op Jamie Green, die tweede staat in het kampioenschap, is de Mercedes-coureur nog niet zeker van zijn zaak.

Spengler maakt een sterk seizoen mee en eindigde tot nu toe alle races op het podium, waarvan twee als overwinnaar. "Deze voorsprong is absoluut nog niet voldoende", vertelde Spengler. "Natuurlijk sta ik er nu goed voor, maar er zijn nog vijf races te gaan en de DTM is een zeer competitieve klasse. Ik moet niet aan het puntenaantal denken, maar gewoon elke race het beste uit mezelf en de auto halen."

"Zandvoort zal bijvoorbeeld geen makkelijke race worden, want Audi geldt daar als de favoriet. We zullen misschien nog wel eens een minder weekend meemaken, maar ook daar moet je rustig blijven en zo goed mogelijk proberen te scoren. Over vijf races zien we wel of het genoeg is geweest om de titel te winnen."
