Mercedes pakt dubbelzege met Paffett en Di Resta

Gary Paffett heeft zojuist de DTM-race in Zandvoort op zijn naam geschreven. De Brit was zijn merkgenoot Paul di Resta te snel af, terwijl polesitter Timo Scheider na een slechte start de snelste Audi was op de derde positie.

Timo Scheider pakte gisteren zijn eerste pole position van het jaar, maar kwam erg slecht weg. De Duitser verloor meteen tien plaatsen en kon beginnen aan een inhaalrace. Gary Paffett kwam daardoor aan de leiding te liggen, gevolgd door Paul di Resta en Miguel Molina. Kampioenschapsleider Bruno Spengler won door het wegvallen van Scheider een plaatsje en lag op de zesde stek.

Vooraan werden beide Mercedes-coureurs niet meer bedreigd en hielp Audi haar coureur Scheider met enkele goede tactische beslissingen en helpende teamgenoten weer terug naar het podium. De regerend kampioen eindigde op twaalf seconden achterstand als derde. Mattias Ekström eindigde als vierde, maar hij is nog in onderzoek bij de raceleiding, want hij wordt ervan verdacht voorbij gelaten te zijn door Audi-collega Miguel Molina door middel van een teamorder. De Spaanse rookie reed echter een uitstekende race in zijn 'Jahreswagen' en pakte de vijfde plaats.

[LEFT_IMG=8719][/LEFT_IMG]Oliver Jarvis was het tempo in de slotfase van de race compleet kwijt en moest een treintje van vier auto's achter zich zien te houden. Uiteindelijk behield de Brit wel zijn zesde plaats, terwijl kampioenschapsleider Bruno Spengler als zevende over de streep kwam. Hij had vooral last van het verkeer na zijn pitstops en verloor daarbij veel tijd in een gevecht met Scheider. Martin Tomczyk pakte het laatste puntje met de achtste plaats.

Ralf Schumacher zette Tomczyk in de laatste ronden nog flink onder druk, maar de voormalig Formule 1-coureur kwam niet voorbij aan de Audi-coureur. Jamie Green kende een teleurstellende race die hij op de tiende plaats beëindigde. Alexandre Premat en David Coulthard eindigden als elfde en twaalfde.

Was er vandaag voor het eerst in het echt bij en wat een mooie race en auto\'s gezien en gehoord en dat voor een prikkie!Slechte start van Scheider, maar man,man, wat vocht hij zich terug!En mooi weer, beter dan in R\'dam ;)
