Hockenheimring ingekort voor race in oktober

De DTM-coureurs en teams krijgen in oktober, wanneer ze voor de tweede keer dit seizoen de Hockenheimring aandoen, te maken met een andere configuratie van het circuit. Dat maakte ITR, de organisatie van de DTM, bekend.

De hairpin aan het einde van de Parabolika wordt uit het parkoers gehaald. In plaats daarvan komt eerder in de Parabolica een dubbele bocht naar rechts, waardoor de coureurs sneller terugkeren in het stadion-gedeelte. De lengte van een rondje daalt daardoor met twintig procent en ITR doet dat zodat de toeschouwers langs de baan de auto's vaker voorbij zien komen.
