Paul di Resta zet Mercedes aan kop tijdens tweede training

Paul di Resta heeft op thuisgrond de snelste tijd gereden in de tweede vrije training. Op het circuit van Brands Hatch bleef hij Audi-coureur en landgenoot Oliver Jarvis nog geen tiende voor. Gary Paffett, nog een Brit, reed naar de derde tijd.

Alle Britse coureurs willen natuurlijk de beste plaatsen veroveren tijdens de kwalificatie later vandaag op hun thuiscircuit. Paul di Resta leidde een trio van Britse rijders, wat verder bestond uit Oliver Jarvis en Gary Paffett. Timo Scheider reed de vierde tijd, op bijna drie tienden achterstand van Di Resta.

Kampioenschapsleider Bruno Spengler eindigde als vijfde in de tweede en laatste training, gevolgd door Mattias Ekstrom, Ralf Schumacher en Martin Tomczyk. Jamie Green reed naar de negende tijd, terwijl Alexandre Premat de top-tien afsloot. David Coulthard kwam niet verder dan de zeventiende en voorlaatste tijd. Toch kwam de Schot nog geen negen tienden tekort.
