Timo Scheider blijft aan kop tijdens afsluitende training

Timo Scheider heeft, nadat hij in de eerste training gisteren al de snelste was, vandaag ook de beste tijd laten noteren. De Duitser was op het circuit van Oschersleben ruim twee tienden sneller dan Mercedes-coureur Gary Paffett.

Scheider is nog de enige hoop voor Audi om het kampioenschap binnen te halen. De tweevoudig kampioen heeft de strijd ook nog niet opgegeven en liet zien dat er rekening met hem moet worden gehouden dit weekend. Zijn 1:21.163 was ruim twee tienden sneller dan de tijd van Paffet, die op zijn beurt weer sneller was dan de Audi's van Martin Tomczyk en Miguel Molina.

Paul di Resta, de winnaar van de laatste race in Brands Hatch, reed de vijfde tijd, gevolgd door het Audi-duo Mattias Ekström en Alexandre Premat op de zevende plaats. Hij bleef kampioenschapsleider Bruno Spengler met drie duizendsten voor, terwijl Ralf Schumacher de negende tijd reed. David Coulthard eindigde als vijftiende.
