Berger: "Als een donderslag bij heldere hemel"

DTM-baas Gerhard Berger had het nieuws dat Mercedes de toerwagenklasse na 2018 gaat verlaten totaal niet aan zien komen. Dat laat de oud-coureur weten in gesprek met Auto Bild Motorsport. Mercedes stopt na volgend seizoen met de DTM en treedt daarna toe tot de Formule E.

Dat geheim is goed bewaard gebleven. Berger: "Het kwam als een complete verrassing, als een donderslag bij heldere hemel. In Moskou trok er wel een bepaalde rumoer door de paddock, maar niemand wist iets van een naderend vertrek van Mercedes uit de DTM."

"Nu moeten we de mouwen opstropen. We dienen dit te benaderen als een uitdaging, het is zaak om niet in paniek te raken. Mercedes stopt er niet morgen mee, maar pas aan het einde van 2018. Dat betekent dat we de tijd hebben om een nieuw platform voor een tijdperk zonder Mercedes te creëren."

De auto-industrie zal toch eerst accu's moeten ontwikkelen met een actieradius van 600 km en een oplaadtijd van 5 minuten, anders gaan automobilisten straks massaal in 2039 nog gauw een auto op brandstof aanschaffen.

      Ik denk dat ze per het nieuwe motor regelement ook stoppen met de F1. Gewoon omdat ze daar tegen die tijd alles uit hebben gehaald wat er in zit. En formule E als hun toekomst zien die beter aan gaat sluiten bij de straat auto's op langere termijn

      Daar gaat zijn mooie baantje Dtm houd gewoon op te bestaan de kosten zijn echt hoog en 2 teams is geen competitie ook al omdat de helft van het veld met een auto rijdt van 1 jaar oud.
      Ook in de DTM zitten de tribunes niet meer vol ,vroeger was Hockenheim stijf uitverkocht dat is al jaren niet meer.

      dat proberen ze al jaren, dat gaat met deze regels niet lukken.

      Ik denk dat het nu gewoon einde DTM word.

      Terug naar de echte toerwagens, so what dat ze dan in het vaarwater komen van het WTCC... de naam DTM is genoeg om die strijd aan te kunnen gaan.

      Zonde overigens wel, want voor het eerst in jaren hebben ze bij DTM een stap in de goede richting gezet waar F1 nog een voorbeeld aan kan nemen. Radio verboden buiten de pits, bandenwarmers verboden, tijdlimiet op DRS etc. allemaal goede wijzigingen geweest.

    Mooi moment voor Alfa Romeo om er in te stappen zolang Audi en BMW er maar wel actief in blijven. Anders is er weinig eer aan te behalen.

      Lijkt me niet, de verbrandingsmotor heeft zn langste tijd gehad, het is nu tijd om de nieuwe technieken uit te werken. Er zullen meer en meer uitstappen of de motorregels moeten drastisch gewijzigd worden en meer met de tijd meegaan.

      Dat is geen onzin, dat is de realiteit, kolencentrales zijn doorgaans de voordeligste en meest rendabele oplossing, die verdwijnen niet zomaar, dat kunnnen we wel willen, maar het gebeurt niet.

    Tja , vandaag nog op teletext,,, ban op benzine en diesel in GB vanaf 2040 voor nieuwe auto,s Frankrijk en Noorwegen hebben soortgelijke maatregelen... En niet raar kijken als landen als Duitsland en Nederland opeens weer haantje de voorste zijn om dit soort nonsens nog veel eerder in te voeren...

      Helemaal niet nonsens .. voor het klimaat is het essentieel dat we stoppen met benzine en diesel! We moeten ook minder vlees gaan eten maar dat is weer een heel ander onderwerp!

      Ga toch een heel eind met Bschuit mee, we willen dus alle rokende uitlaatpijpen van autos vervangen door rokende uitlaatpijpen van centrales waar electriciteit wordt opgewekt voor de batterijen.
      De pijpen van kolencentrales zijn op dit moment de grootste vervuiler in VS. als de vraag naar elctrische autos groeit, groeit dus ook de vraag naar batterijen en daarmee ook het aantal centrales met vervuilende uitlaatpijpen, op dit moment lood om oud ijzer dus.

      Lage of 0 emissies zijn alleen haalbaar als de electriciteit verkregen word uit koolstofarme bronnen, zoals wind, zon of nucleaire reactoren.
      Of iedereen moet gaan fietsen dat kan ook, maar vooralsnog is dit paniekvoetbal.

      Wat een onzin Mr. Monza .. gewoon gebruik maken van duurzame energie .. er is genoeg zon en wind om de hele aarde van energie te voorzien. Steenkolencentrales zijn ook gesloten in 2040! Technologie gaat zo snel vooruit .. 23 jaar is lang hoor .. ik maak mij geen zorgen en die actieradius van 600km komt er echt wel!
