Premat en Audi uit elkaar, O'Young racet in Sjanghai

Darryl O'Young uit Hong Kong vervangt voor het laatste raceweekend van dit seizoen Alexandre Premat bij Audi. De Duitse autofabrikant en de Franse coureur hebben een onoverkomelijk verschil van mening en gaan per direct uit elkaar, waardoor O'Young de kans krijgt voor de wedstrijd in Sjanghai.

Audi-motorsportbaas Wolfgang Ulrich legt uit: We verwelkomen Darryl bij Audi en zijn blij dat we ons op zo'n korte termijn van zijn diensten hebben verzekerd. Darryl presteert al jaren sterk in de GT-racerij en behaalde bij de 12 uur van Sepang in de Audi R8 met Frank Biela en Marco Werner een opmerkelijk resultaat door als tweede te finishen.

Het besluit om Alexandre Premat voortijdig te laten gaan was niet makkelijk, maar onze standpunten over belangrijke onderwerpen liggen te ver uit elkaar. We danken hem voor zijn werk in de afgelopen vier jaar en wensen hem het beste voor de toekomst.
