Mercedes domineert testdag Oostenrijk, Van der Zande maakt indruk

Bruno Spengler heeft zijn goede lijn van de eerste twee races in 2011 doorgezet met de snelste tijd op een testdag in Oostenrijk. Op de gerenoveerde Red Bull Ring was de Canadees zijn twee teamgenoten van HWA, Jamie Green en Gary Paffett, te snel af.

Green gaf met de tweede tijd slechts 0.046 seconden toe op de beste tijd van Spengler. Paffett volgde als derde met een achterstand van 0.117 seconden. Renger van der Zande maakte indruk tijdens de testdag. De Nederlander, rijdend in een 2008-auto van Persson, eindigde als vierde, gevolgd door teamgenoot Christian Vietoris.

Miguel Molina was de beste Audi-rijder op de zesde plaats, gevolgd door Mercedes-coureur Ralf Schumacher. Martin Tomczyk, Filipe Albuquerque en Mike Rockenfeller completeerden de top tien.
