Haupt Racing Team meldt zich met twee auto's aan voor DTM

De DTM kan weer een nieuwe deelnemer toevoegen aan de startlijst voor 2021. Haupt Racing Team heeft zich met twee auto's ingeschreven voor het komende seizoen in de klasse. De Duitse renstal gaat gebruikmaken van de Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. De namen van de coureurs voor 2021 zijn nog niet bekend.

Hubert Haupt, oprichter van Haupt Racing Team, racete zelf in 1991 en 1992 namens Audi in de DTM. In 2001 maakte hij een comeback voor een seizoen bij Opel. Zijn eigen renstal is pas vorig jaar ontstaan na een breuk met het team van Black Falcon.

"Ik kijk enorm uit naar de DTM", begint Haupt. "Deze serie is nauw verwant aan mijn eigen carrière als coureur en nu ook aan die als teameigenaar. We zijn pas halverwege 2020 met onze eigen renstal begonnen, maar we hebben al de nodige mooie successen geboekt."

"Toetreden tot de DTM is een logische volgende stap voor ons. We weten dat het een enorme uitdaging wordt, maar dat is precies waar we van houden. Iedereen bij Haupt Racing Team bezit passie voor autosport en zal deze uitdaging professioneel benaderen."
