Tomczyk beschouwt zichzelf nog niet als titelkandidaat

Martin Tomczyk zegevierde zondag op de Red Bull Ring en steeg naar de tweede plek in de tussenstand. Met twintig punten staat hij slechts drie punten achter leider Bruno Spengler. Maar om al over titelaspiraties te spreken, daar is het nog te vroeg voor.

Tomczyk: Daar denk ik nog niet aan. Mijn doel voor dit seizoen was om de snelste van de oude auto's te zijn en dat is nog steeds mijn doel. Wellicht kan ik vaker vooraan meedoen en moet ik aan het einde mijn doelstellingen bijstellen. Maar het kampioenschap ligt momenteel niet voor de hand.

Ik beloofde mijn team voor de start van dit seizoen een overwinning en in onze derde race samen zijn we daar al in geslaagd. We willen meer en dat zit er ook in. Het was een geweldig moment voor het team. Ze presteerden het hele weekend foutloos en dit was een mooie en terechte beloning.
