Tomczyk: "Dit was de makkelijkste zege uit mijn carriére"

Martin Tomczyk pakte gisteren de overwinning op de Lausitzring en daarmee ook de leiding in het kampioenschap. Na afloop sprak de Audi-coureur, die het met een auto uit 2008 moet doen dit jaar, over de gemakkelijkste zege uit zijn carriére.

Tomczyk ging bij de eerste pitstop voorbij aan leider Bruno Spengler en zijn tweede zege van het seizoen kwam daarna geen enkel moment meer in gevaar. Timo Scheider eindigde als tweede op ruim vijf seconden achterstand. "Nadat ik Bruno voorbij was gegaan, reed ik gewoon mijn eigen race en was de auto gemakkelijk te besturen", vertelde Tomczyk.

"Ik was daarna erg constant. Ik kon ronde na ronde dezelfde tijden rijden en was sneller dan alle andere coureurs in het veld. Dat was geweldig. Dit was de gemakkelijkste zege uit mijn carriére. Ik kon mijn eigen race rijden, had van niemand last en kan dan ook nergens over klagen."
