Goetz behaalt eerste zege op de Lausitzring

De Duitse Maximilian Goetz heeft in zijn Mercedes voor de allereerste keer gewonnen in de DTM. Begin dit seizoen scoorde de 35-jarige coureur al een derde plaats. Red Bull-junior Liam Lawson werd net als op zaterdag tweede. Kelvin van der Linde maakte het podium compleet. Philip Ellis, die de eerste wedstrijd won op de roval van de Lausitzring, startte vanaf pole en scoorde een vierde plek.

Van der Linde, de Zuid-Afrikaan, blijft eerste in het kampioenschap met 69 punten. Lawson komt steeds dichterbij en heeft 65 punten. Ellis stormt na goede prestaties dit weekend de top drie binnen en heeft in totaal 48 punten, twee punten meer dan Goetz. Alexander Albon staat vijfde met 31 punten.

De volgende ontmoeting is op het circuit van Zolder in België op 7 en 8 augustus.
