Wittman zorgt voor blije gezichten bij BMW na zege op Zolder

In Zolder in België behaalde tweevoudig kampioen Marco Wittmann vanaf poleposition zijn eerste overwinning van het seizoen tijdens het derde DTM-raceweekend. Met de BMW van het Walkenhorst Motorsport-team finishte de Duitser de race op zondag voor Maximilian Goetz en Liam Lawson, de nummer twee in de stand. Voor het team was dit ook de eerste zege van 2021.

In het kampioenschap blijft Kelvin van der Linde aan de leiding met 21 punten voorsprong op Red Bull-junior Lawson. Van der Linde had zaterdag de race gewonnen met de ABT Audi en eindigde zondag als achtste. De stand is hier terug te vinden.

Het volgende en vierde DTM-weekend begint op 20 augustus. Het toerwagenkampioenschap rijdt dan op de Nürburgring.
