BMW probeert jongelingen Rast, Stanaway en Vernay uit bij test

Rene Rast, Jean-Karl Vernay en Richie Stanaway zijn door BMW uitgenodigd voor een test van volgende week op de Lausitzring met de nieuwe DTM-auto voor 2012. De Duitse autofabrikant evalueert het trio tijdens de sessie met het oog op de line-up voor volgend jaar.

Het betreft drie relatief jonge coureurs. Stanaway is de benjamin met 19 jaar, Rast is 24 jaar en Vernay is de nestor met 25 jaar. Ze voegen zich in Lausitz bij reeds bevestigde coureurs Andy Priaulx en Augusto Farfus, en BMW GT-rijders Dirk Werner en Jorg Muller.

BMW-motorsportbaas Jens Marquardt: Het doet ons deugd om een selectie van jonge rijders de kans te geven om te testen met de M3 DTM. Rast, Vernay en Stanaway hebben zich al bewezen in andere series en we zijn benieuwd hoe ze het in een DTM-auto doen.
