BMW completeert line-up voor DTM met Dirk Werner

BMW reserveert het zesde en laatste stoeltje voor de rentree in de DTM voor Dirk Werner. De 30-jarige Duitser was vorig voor de Duitse autofabrikant actief in de GT-racerij. Naast Werner contracteerde BMW eerder al Augusto Farfus, Andy Priaulx, Martin Tomczyk, Bruno Spengler en Joey Hand.

BMW-motorsportdirecteur Jens Marquardt: Dirk Werner is de ideale zesde coureur om onze line-up voor 2012 mee te voltooien. Hij heeft ons tijdens de tests overtuigd dat hij de juiste man is. Het resultaat van onze inspanningen in de afgelopen maanden is een groep coureurs waarmee wij denken grootse prestaties te kunnen bewerkstelligen. De line-up bevat snelheid, ervaring en een lading aan internationale titels. Ik ben ook blij met het internationale karakter van ons DTM-team, met twee Noord-Amerikanen, één rijder uit Zuid-Amerika, een Brit en twee Duitsers.
