Coulthard krijgt dit jaar beschikking over nieuwe Mercedes

David Coulthard rijdt ook in 2012 in de DTM. De Schot zal voor het derde achtereenvolgende seizoen in de toerwagenserie actief zijn, maar hij krijgt dit jaar voor het eerst de beschikking over de nieuwste auto van Mercedes. De 13-voudig Grand Prix-winnaar blijft bij Mucke Motorsport.

Coulthard: "De DTM begint in 2012 aan een nieuw tijdperk. Nieuwe auto's, nieuwe reglementen en een extra autofabrikant beloven meer spanning en opwinding in het kampioenschap dan ooit. Daarom verheug ik me ook op komend seizoen met Mercedes. Mijn eerste indrukken van de nieuwe C-Coupe zijn positief, vooral het schakelen met flippers achter het stuur wat ik nog ken uit de Formule 1. De afgelopen twee jaar heb ik veel moeten leren. In 2012 wil ik mijn stijgende lijn voort zetten en respectabele resultaten behalen."
