Jamie Green behoudt zijn plek bij Mercedes voor 2012

Jamie Green verdedigt ook komend seizoen de eer van Mercedes in de DTM. De 29-jarige Brit won vorig jaar de seizoensfinale op de Hockenheimring en eindigde in het kampioenschap als vijfde. Green is al sinds 2005 in dienst bij Mercedes.

De DTM begint aan een nieuw tijdperk in 2012 en de nieuwe auto's en nieuwe reglementen beloven een opwindend seizoen op te leveren, zegt Green. Ik verheug me er op om mijn ervaring van zeven jaar in de DTM aan te spreken voor het ontwikkelings- en afstellingswerk met de C-Coupé.

Mercedes-motorsportbaas Norbert Haug: Jamie is zonder twijfel een van de beste en snelste coureurs in de DTM. We kijken uit naar een nieuw jaar met een echte racer als hij is. Jamie heeft aan zijn Duits gesleuteld, zodat dat aspect nu bijna net zo goed is als zijn rijden.
