Green in laatste bocht voorbij aan Tomczyk voor zege op Norisring

Jamie Green heeft de DTM-race op de Norisring gewonnen na een zinderende ontknoping. De Brit van Mercedes passeerde in de laatste bocht van de laatste ronde Martin Tomczyk van concurrent BMW en reed als eerste over de finish. De laatste plek op het podium ging ook naar BMW met Bruno Spengler.

Kampioenschapleider Gary Paffett eindigde voor het eerst dit jaar niet op het podium, hij legde beslag op de vierde stek. Zijn voorsprong in de tussenstand is echter nog comfortabel, het gat naar merkgenoot Green bedraagt 26 punten. De beste Audi op de Norisring was Mike Rockenfeller op P6, vlak achter David Coulthard. De beste Audi uit de kwalificatie, die van Mattias Ekstrom, viel al na een rondje uit na een tik van Augusto Farfus. Ralf Schumacher reed een sterke race totdat zijn Mercedes kuren vertoonde en hij uit moest vallen.
