DTM en Hankook verlengen contract tot eind 2016

De DTM is in elk geval tot het einde van 2016 verzekerd van de diensten van Hankook als bandenleverancier. Organisator ITR en de Zuid-Koreaanse bandenfabrikant hebben de verbintenis opengebroken en met drie jaar verlengd. Daarnaast is een optie voor nog een verlenging opgenomen in het nieuwe akkoord.

De DTM racet sinds 2011 op het rubber van Hankook. ITR-voorzitter Hans Werner Aufrecht: "De eerste twee jaar met Hankook aan onze zijde hebben ons overtuigd van de competitiviteit van deze firma. Daarom was het voor ons vrij snel duidelijk dat we de samenwerking ook na 2013 wilden voortzetten. Deze vroegtijdige verlenging is een logisch gevolg."

"We zijn allemaal benieuwd of de nieuwe option tyre dit jaar van toegevoegde waarde blijkt te zijn. We anticiperen op meer actie en meer inhaalacties door het gebruik van twee verschillende compounds. We zijn de engineers van Hankook dankbaar. Ze hebben gehoor gegeven aan onze wens voor banden die korte tijd voor snelle rondetijden zorgen en daarna snel aftakelen."
