Paffett beklaagt zich over rijgedrag collega's

Mercedes-coureur Gary Paffett roept de stewards in de DTM op om strenger te letten op onacceptabel rijgedrag. Zo typeert de Brit namelijk de acties van BMW-collega's Martin Tomczyk en Bruno Spengler bij de seizoensopener op de Hockenheimring. Dat tweetal verdiende in de ogen van Paffett een straf.

"Martin haalde me een keer in op de zachte band en ik liet hem gaan, want ik had geen schijn van kans op het harde rubber", begint hij tegenover Autosport. "Later kwam ik hem weer tegen en hij gaf me gewoon een brake-test op het rechte stuk. Ik snap niet waarom sommigen zulke stomme dingen uithalen. Ik sprak hem na afloop en hij zei dat hij last van wielspin had en niet remde. Op de televisiebeelden zijn de brandende remlichten duidelijk te zien. Een tikje hier en daar kan ik hebben, maar brake-tests hebben niets met racen van doen. Het is roekeloos en gevaarlijk en had bestraft moeten worden."

Spengler zou hem twee maal ingehaald hebben terwijl hij met vier wielen buiten de limiet van de baan reed. Paffett: "Hij deed iets wat helder in de reglementen omschreven staat als niet toegestaan. Hij kreeg er echter geen penalty voor en dat toont het gebrek aan controle op de naleving van de regels."
