Red Bull Ring verlengt DTM-contract tot en met 2016

De Red Bull Ring nabij Spielberg in Oostenrijk is ook de komende drie jaar gastheer van een DTM-race. De circuitleiding en de organisatie van de toerwagenserie hebben overeenstemming bereikt over een nieuw contract tot en met 2016.

Hans Werner Aufrecht van organisator ITR: "We voelen ons zeer op ons gemak met de DTM in Spielberg. Daarom doet het ons deugd om daar ook de komende drie jaar te racen. De Red Bull Ring heeft het voordeel dat het een circuit is dat op een natuurlijke manier door de omgeving slingert, wat automatisch voor mooie autosport zorgt. Daarom houden we van Spielberg."

"Een andere reden is de geweldige organisatie, die absoluut van het niveau is om grote autosportevenementen te verwelkomen. Tegelijkertijd verliezen we de DTM-fans niet uit het oog. Voor een nog betere ervaring de komende jaren dringen we aan op overdekte tribunes en een verbeterde parkeersituatie bij de Red Bull Ring."

Vond/vind het altijd een mooie baan, vooral dat racen tussen de bergen ziet er geweldig uit.

Kan me ook herinneren dat ik nog eens een middag gespendeerd heb om dat circuit in GP2 te klussen.
