China volgend seizoen weer gastheer van DTM-race

De DTM keert volgend seizoen terug naar China. Sjanghai stond in 2010 voor het laatst op de kalender van de toerwagenserie, maar de afgelopen jaren lieten ze Azië links liggen. Daar komt volgend jaar weer verandering in. De locatie voor de Chinese DTM-race is nog onbekend. Het gaat tussen Sjanghai en Guangdong.

De organisatie van de DTM heeft een akkoord gesloten met de China Brilliant Culture Group. ITR-voorzitter Hans Werner Aufrecht: "Het doet ons deugd dat China ons in de herfst van 2014 voor de derde keer welkom heet als gasten. De Chinese markt voor straatauto's is een van de snelst groeiende markten ter wereld en daarom van belang voor Mercedes, BMW en Audi. Bovendien zien we de toewijding van onze nieuwe Chinese partners en daar krijgen wij een goed gevoel bij. Wat ze ook als locatie kiezen, we racen sowieso in een van de grootste steden van het land."
