Autosportbond halveert punten van race op Lausitzring

De afgelopen DTM-race op de Lausitzring heeft nog een staartje gekregen. De Duitse autosportbond DMSB(Deutscher Motor Sport Bund) heeft de punten die in die race zijn behaald gehalveerd. Mika Hakkinen(foto) won de race op de EuroSpeedway voor Paul di Resta en Bruno Spengler, maar veel concurrenten waren het niet eens met die uitslag.

Dat kwam omdat twee safety car-periodes de race door de war schopten. Na een crash van Markus Winkelhock moest die namelijk de baan op, maar de safety car pikte niet de leider op. De eerste zes coureurs mochten door en kregen daardoor een grote voorsprong op de rest van het veld. De DTM-commissie had de DMSB gevraagd om de race nog eens te bekijken en mogelijk actie te ondernemen.

Met als uitkomst dat het resultaat blijft staan, alleen de punten worden gehalveerd. Ook het extra gewicht dat de coureurs meekrijgen voor de volgende race op Brands Hatch is gehalveerd. In de stand van het kampioenschap is de voorsprong van leider Paul di Resta op Mattias Ekstrom van acht punten teruggebracht naar vier punten.
