Spengler vraagt om straf voor Scheider

Mercedes-coureur Bruno Spengler heeft openlijk gevraagd aan de DTM-racedirectie om Audi-coureur Timo Scheider een straf op te leggen. De Canadese coureur is boos op zijn Duitse opponent omdat die hem bij de race op het circuit van Mugello op het gras duwde bij de start. Althans, dat is het verhaal van Spengler.

Scheider was erg agressief en stom bezig op het rechte stuk, zegt de Mercedes-coureur. Zulke acties moeten bestraft worden. Scheider klaagde vrij hevig na ons incident op de Hockenheimring en daarvoor kreeg ik toen wel een straf. Maar ik ben er de persoon niet naar om te blijven hangen in het verleden.

Ik kijk nu puur naar wat er nu gebeurde, en dat waren gewoon stomme acties. Bovendien was het gewoon gevaarlijk. Ik had trouwens niks anders van Scheider verwacht. Ik hoop alleen dat de racedirectie hier wel boven staat en gaat ingrijpen, aldus Spengler.
