Teamorders smet op Audi-overwinning

De Audis hebben de DTM-race op het circuit van Zandvoort gedomineerd. In de kwalificatie waren ze al oppermachtig en in de race kwam Mercedes er ook niet aan te pas. De enige smet op de glansrijke zege van Audi is de laatste ronde. Daarin kregen Alexandre Premat en Timo Scheider de opdracht om aan de kant te gaan voor teamgenoten Martin Tomczyk en Mattias Ekstrom en dat gebeurde ook.

Premat was zelfs op weg naar zijn allereerste zege in de DTM, maar gehoorzaamde toch aan de wens van de teamleiding. Concurrent Mercedes sprak van een schande en ook het publiek was niet geheel tevreden met de gefabriceerde uitslag.

De beste Mercedes-man werd de Canadees Bruno Spengler. Hij werd vijfde, voor Christian Abt van Audi. Mika Hakkinen en Alexander Margaritis maken de top acht compleet.
