Felipe Nasr kondigt deelname 24 uur van Le Mans aan

Oud Formule 1-coureur Felipe Nasr keert terug op de Europese circuits. De Braziliaan, die in 2015 en 2016 uitkwam voor het team van Sauber, heeft een contract getekend bij het team van Villorba. Nasr neemt de 24 uur van Le Mans voor zijn rekening voor het team, maar zal ook de races in de Europese Le Mans Series rijden. Nasr vervangt Andrea Bellichi, de Zwitser kampt met rugklachten en kan daardoor niet racen.

"Het is geweldig om terug te keren in een kampioenschap dat rijdt op circuits die ik goed ken uit mijn Formule 1-tijd. Naast mijn programma in Europa rijdt ik dit jaar ook in de Verenigde Staten, de LMP2-auto waarmee ik daar rijdt is vergelijkbaar met de auto van Villorba. Villorba is een Italiaans team, het is geweldig dat ze me een kans bieden. Ik ben ook via een Italiaans team in de Formule-wagens beland", aldus Felipe Nasr.

Nasr scoorde in twee seizoenen Formule 1 bij het team van Sauber 29 punten. Zijn beste prestatie is een vijfde plaats tijdens zijn Formule 1-debuut op het circuit van Albert Park in Melbourne, Australië.

Toch jammer dat hij weg is, prima rijder voor de middenmoot. Vond in 2017 een duo met Wehrlein ook veel logischer dan Wehrlein en Ericsson. Maarja, Marcus heeft Longbow aan zijn zeide en staat me bij dat Banco Brasil Nasr liet vallen eind 2017
