Alonso ziet kansen voor een podiumfinish

Fernando Alonso is erg hoopvol gestemd na zijn vierde kwalificatietijd voor de Grand Prix van Frankrijk. De Spaanse coureur in de Franse bolide zal morgen echter vanaf de derde stek vertrekken en mede daardoor ziet de man uit Oviedo kansen op een podium, het zou de eerste van het jaar voor hem zijn.

De tweevoudig wereldkampioen, die morgen achter Raikkonen en Massa start: "De tijden zitten vandaag ook weer echt dicht bij elkaar. De auto is echt grote stukken vooruit gegaan en dus hebben we dit keer denk ik echt een kans om een podium te scoren. Natuurlijk liggen de Ferrari's nog ver voor op ons, maar we boeken progressie. We zullen het maximale uit de bolide halen om tot een goed resultaat te komen."

Teamgenoot Nelson Piquet Jr. haalde het net niet om in de top tien te kwalificeren door toedoen van David Coulthard. Toch zal de Braziliaan vanaf een mooie tiende positie starten. Piquet Jr.: "Het is echt frustrerend om weer die laatste cut te missen, maar we hadden het qua banden niet goed onder controle. De langzame band was uiteindelijk veel langzamer voor mij. Gelukkig kunnen we hier nu een goede strategie uitstippelen, en deze ook naleven. Omdat het lastig is om in te halen hier kunnen we met een goede strategie ver komen."

Nelson Piquet Jr. sluit af met: "De tijden zaten vandaag weer erg dicht bij elkaar. De auto gedroeg zich prima op het circuit en morgen zal ik mijn best doen om mijn eerste punten van het seizoen te scoren."

Zoals Piquet Jr. zelf al meldde is hij nog puntloos. Fernando Alonso scoorde er tot op heden negen.

Mm denk niet.. Ik verwacht dat ze aarrdig licht zijn.. EN dus 3 ronden ongeveer minder kunnen rijden. Maar ze boeken vooruitgang

Hij was in de tweede kwali (waar iedereen licht is) al heel snel dus de veronderstelling dat hij wel licht zal zijn is niet waar.
Ik denk dat hij netjes achter de Ferrari\'s aan de eerste bocht door gaat en daarna zonder al te veel druk van achteren vrolijk naar het podium rijdt. Misschien dat hij zelfs nog druk kan zetten of profiteert van een foutje of pech bij Ferrari. (die hebben daar nogal eens last van)

en waarom ook niet, als de andere teams van verder naar achteren op het podium kunnen rijden zou ik niet weten waarom alonso ook niet op het podium zou kunnen komen
