Haas F1 voorziet Grosjean van een nieuw chassis

Romain Grosjean test vandaag in Barcelona met een nieuw chassis. Haas F1 Team heeft daartoe besloten omdat de Fransman sinds China al niet gelukkig is met de wegligging van zijn bolide. Grosjean scoorde in Australië en Bahrein punten, maar ondanks de puntenfinish in Rusland is het daarna steeds minder gegaan.

Een verklaring daarvoor heeft Haas F1 niet. Grosjean: "We worstelen sinds China ergens mee en we weten niet precies waarmee, dus we gooien alles om voor de test. Het is lastig voor iedereen die hard werkt aan een oplossing en die op papier ook vindt dat er in de praktijk weinig van terecht kwam."

"Esteban Gutierrez had ook geen last van deze problemen. Het is raadselachtig dat dit maar bij één van de twee auto's opspeelt. Daarom is deze test voor ons zeer belangrijk. We stappen over op een nieuw chassis om te zien of daarmee de problemen zijn verholpen."

Nee, dat is niet normaal. Normaal is dat je 1 á 2 chassis verslijt in een seizoen.
Wellicht heb je de afgelopen jaren een vertekend beeld gekregen door de aanwezigheid van Pastor Maldonado in de F1. ;-)

    Valt me op dat er al drie teams zijn die dit seizoen een nieuw chassis geven aan een coureur

      Waarschijnlijk omdat er volgend jaar zoveel zitjes vrij komen bij topteams dat de rijders zichzelf in de kijker willen rijden. En wat is er nu makkelijker dan het chassis de schuld geven van een slechte race.

      Volgend jaar veel zitjes vrij bij topteam? Serieus? Mercedes heeft Lewis en Rosberg onder contract. Max ligt voor jaren vast bij Red Bull en voor Vettel geldt hetzelfde bij Ferrari.
      Alleen als Ferrari niet verder gaat met Kimi zou er iets kunnen veranderen, maar voorlopig heeft Kimi zelfs meer punten dan Vettel, dus ik denk dat er bij de drie topteams helemaal niet zal veranderen.
