Magnussen mist kwalificatie na crash

Kevin Magnussen heeft door zijn crash in de derde vrije training zichzelf uitgeschakeld voor de kwalificatie. Het Renault-team meldt zojuist in de paddock van Montreal aan de pers dat de Deen niet mee zal doen aan de kwalificatie omdat de monteurs zijn wagen niet op tijd hebben kunnen repareren.

Renault gaat zelfs een geheel nieuw chassis opbouwen. Jolyon Palmer zal de enige coureur zijn die namens het Franse team zal deelnemen, terwijl zijn teamgenoot Magnussen officieel toestemming moet krijgen van de wedstrijdleiding om morgen toch te starten, echter vanuit de pitstraat.
