Haas F1 is aanhoudende remproblemen spuugzat

Haas F1 Team denkt erover na om over te stappen op een andere remleverancier. De Amerikaanse renstal rijdt nu nog met remmen van Brembo, maar het team wordt geteisterd door aanhoudende remproblemen. Bij de thuisrace op het Circuit of the Americas viel Esteban Gutierrez uit met een remprobleem. Haas F1-teambaas Günther Steiner is er wel klaar mee.

"De vrijdag en de zaterdag verliepen moeizaam, dus het voelde goed om een puntje over te houden aan de race in Austin", begint hij. "Maar het is een bitterzoet gevoel, want met Gutierrez kregen we weer te maken met remproblemen. Dat is niet iets om trots op te zijn. Het puntje met Romain Grosjean verzacht dat deels, we hebben niet opgegeven en we zijn daarvoor beloond."

Toch zit Haas F1 in zijn maag met die remproblemen. Voor het einde van het jaar zal de renstal testen met remmen van Carbon Industrie. Steiner: "We gaan ander materiaal uitproberen, we moeten iets. De remmen kunnen niet kapot blijven gaan. Esteban lag op een goede positie toen hij uitviel. Brembo doet zijn best om de problemen tot op de bodem uit te zoeken en te verhelpen."

"Zelf moeten we dat ook doen, door bijvoorbeeld andere remmen te verkennen. Ik weet niet waar de problemen vandaan komen. Als we dat wel wisten, hadden we ze al opgelost. Brembo onderzoekt het en wij wachten af of zij vinden wat er mis is gegaan. Het moge duidelijk zijn dat er iets niet goed zit, alleen weten we nog niet wat."

Maar er zijn toch meer renstallen met Brembo remmen neem ik aan, waarom hebben die het probleem niet?

  Snap ik @Wingleader...Maar Haas schuift het nu af op de fabrikant, terwijl andere renstallen er blijkbaar geen problemen mee hebben...Dus misschien ligt het wel aan Haas zelf...

  Volgens mij gaan ze niet van Brembo af stappen; ik kwam op de Twitter feed van Carig Scarborough het volgende bericht tegen:
  
  "Haas #F1 set to announce a change to brake setup. They will match the Ferrari-spec by utilising Carbone Industrie material at the #MexicoGP."
  
  Ferrari maakt echter al jaren gebruik van Brembo remmen; dus ik vermoed dat ze een aantal andere onderdelen gaan vervangen en dus de volledige remsetup van Ferrari gaan kopieren.
