Romain Grosjean verdedigt keuze Kevin Magnussen om naar Haas te gaan

Romain Grosjean krijgt volgend jaar een nieuwe teamgenoot in de persoon van Kevin Magnussen. Magnussen debuteerde in 2014 bij McLaren in de Formule 1, bracht in 2015 een jaar langs de zijlijn door en keerde in 2016 terug bij het fabrieksteam van Renault. Magnussen heeft een meerjarig contract getekend bij Haas F1. Romain Grosjean blijft ook bij Haas en verdedigt de keuze van Magnussen om naar Haas te gaan.

Magnussen kreeg de nodige kritiek van zijn huidige teamgenoot Jolyon Palmer. Volgens Palmer is Magnussen bij Haas slechter af, maar Grosjean ziet dan anders: "Ik begrijp de keuze van Kevin Magnussen. Hij heeft naar mijn mening duidelijk laten weten waarom hij Renault vaarwel zegt. Hij voelde zich daar niet meer op zijn gemak. Bij Haas F1 is de sfeer goed en ongedwongen. Haas is een kleiner team dan Renault, maar hebben dit jaar betere resultaten behaald. Hopelijk kunnen we dat volgend jaar voortzetten."
