Max Verstappen en Mercedes dollen op Twitter

Nadat Max Verstappen was geland in Wenen voor het FIA-gala en het nieuws hoorde over het stoppen van Nico Rosberg, was de Nederlander er als de kippen bij om een dolletje te beginnen met het team van Mercedes. De grap is niet voor niets: eerder dit jaar belde Mercedes-baas Toto Wolff met vader Jos Verstappen om het te hebben over Max Verstappen.

Wolff heeft in dat gesprek gezegd dat Max Verstappen zich niet teveel met de titelstrijd moest gaan bemoeien. De Nederlander trok zich hier niets van aan en vocht in de laatste races van het jaar regelmatig duels uit met de latere wereldkampioen Nico Rosberg.

Nu er een stoeltje bij Mercedes is vrijgekomen, besloot Max Verstappen er meteen op te solliciteren via Twitter. Natuurlijk geen serieuze sollicitatie, aangezien de Nederlander de komende jaren onder contract staat bij Red Bull.

Reactie van Mercedes hierna was ook goud. Helaas mag je hier geen linkjes plaatsen, maar zou niet zo moeilijke te vinden moeten zijn.

Yes! Komkommertijd is weer begonnen! Kijk er nu alweer naar uit om het de hele winter te moeten doen met dit soort berichten :)

En Max komt niet naar Mercedes voor degene die denken dat dat een serieuze mogelijkheid is. Hij zit op zijn plek bij Red Bull en hij heeft alles aan Red Bull te danken tot zover. Laat m eerst maar Red Bull maar terugbetalen met minimaal 1 titel net wat Vettel heeft gedaan. Dat is gelukkig ook wat Max van plan is en mocht hij naar Mercedes willen dan laat Red Bull hem uberhaupt nooit gaan.

  Kevin, over dat terug betalen hij heeft niet in de opleiding van RBR gezeten en uiterraad hebben ze Max wel de kans gegeven om in de F1 te rijden dus dat valt wel mee maar Max is heel tevreden bij RB en is dus niet van plan om naar MB te gaan als hij gevraagd zou worden.

Nu ligt het misschien aan mij. maar de email. Daarin komt toch duidelijk naar voren, dat de mail niet van verstappen is. Maar dat het hier gaat om een anderen Nederlandse coureur die Verstappen als referentie heeft.

Dit is allemaal zaaiwerk om eens in de verre toekomst te oogsten. Mercedes weet best dat ze nu geen kans maken (en eigenlijk is dat ook helemaal niet in het belang van F1), maar mocht Max ooit eens in een Vettel situatie terechtkomen, dan willen ze niet dat zijn focus op Ferrari is gericht.
