Sergio Perez: "Vastberaden om het seizoen goed te beginnen"

Beide rijders van Force India moesten na Q2 afhaken voor de kwalificatie. Sergio Perez staat elfde op de grid en Esteban Ocon moest genoegen nemen met P14. Perez was teleurgesteld na afloop.

"Het is teleurstellend dat je de top 10 met zo'n kleine marge misloopt, minder dan een tiende van een seconde", aldus Perez. Toch vindt hij plaats 11 geen slechte positie op de grid en hij verwacht om de punten mee te kunnen strijden.

Perez: "De teams in het midden van het veld liggen erg dicht bij elkaar en we gaan spannende gevechten zien." Maar de Mexicaan zal in het roze gevaarte zijn huid morgen duur verkopen. "Inhalen is lastig hier, zeker met de bredere wagens, maar ik ga er hard voor knokken morgen. Ik ben vastberaden om het seizoen goed te beginnen", zo sluit hij af.
