Ricciardo en Perez krijgen waarschuwing wegens missen spelen volkslied

Daniel Ricciardo en Sergio Perez hebben een officiële waarschuwing gehad van de FIA. De twee rijders waren voor de race niet aanwezig toen het volkslied gespeeld werd. 

Het spelen van het volkslied op de grid is traditie, maar nog nooit kregen rijders voor het ontbreken bij het ten gehore brengen van de nationale hymne een straf opgelegd. In het ene land wordt er zwaarder aan getild dan in het andere zullen wij maar denken. 

Volgens de FIA hebben de beide rijders artikel 19.4 ii van de FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations overtreden. Het is voor de rijders de eerste waarschuwing en na drie overtredingen volgt er een gridstraf, maar die kan in principe alleen worden uitgedeeld naar aanleiding van fouten op de baan. Als in: tijdens het rijden, want dit was uiteraard ook op de baan.

Ik vind het allemaal weer erg kinderachtig. Sergio en Daniël hadden moeite met de babi pangang van de avond daarvoor. Harder drukken helpt dan niet. Ze hadden ook gewoon het varkensvlees wat hygiënischer kunnen bewaren voordat ze het bewerkten. Straf dan de kok van het circuit!

    Onnodig verzinsel dat coureurs hier bij moeten zijn. Ze hebben wel wat beters te doen dan in de houding staan voor dictatoriale regimes.

      Het heeft te maken met het tonen van respect naar de gastheer, het gastland en de bevolking van dat land. Heeft niks met politiek of staatsvorm van doen, een volkslied is een volkslied.
      Overigens is er in elk land wel een reden te bedenjen om niet naar het volkslied te luisteren.
