Kubica: "Niet realistisch om over stoeltje bij Ferrari te praten"

Robert Kubica zou graag naast zijn goede vriend Fernando Alonso willen racen bij Ferrari, zo vertelde de Pool tegen het Spaanse El Pais. Echter, volgens Kubica is het niet realistisch om op dit moment over een contract bij het Italiaanse team te praten.

Kubica maakt momenteel een goed seizoen mee in zijn Renault en staat op dit moment achtste in het kampioenschap. "Ik zou inderdaad graag naast Fernando willen racen bij Ferrari", vertelde Kubica. "Het is echter niet realistisch om daar nu over te praten, zeker niet nu Massa zijn contract tot en met 2012 heeft verlengd."

"Ferrari is een team met veel historie en veel successen in de Formule 1. In Italië is het echt een begrip, meer dan alleen een team. Dus het is wel begrijpelijk dat de meeste coureurs wel geïnteresseerd zijn om voor Ferrari te racen."

Verder vertelde Kubica dat hij geenproblemen heeft met alle geruchten over zijn toekomst: "Ik heb er geen problemen mee. Toen Fernando in 2008 McLaren verliet werd er gezegd dat hij naar BMW zou komen. Ik had dat zeker niet erg gevonden, maar het was gewoon speculatie. Er kan vanalles gebeuren in de toekomst. Misschien rijden we over vijf jaar wel samen bij Renault als het contract van Fernando afloopt bij Ferrari."
