McLaren-talent Lando Norris heeft zijn eerste rondjes met de nieuwe Formule 1-game van Codemasters reeds achter de rug. De 17-jarige Brit mocht kennismaken met de nieuwste editie van het spel, F1 2017. Voor de gelegenheid kroop hij in de McLaren MCL32 en de klassieke bolides van de Britse renstal voor een aantal rondjes op de korte versie van het circuit van Suzuka.

Norris: "Mijn eerste Formule 1-test was een geweldig gevoel en na mijn testdag met de MCL32 in Hongarije kan ik bevestigen dat deze generatie auto's veel leuker en intenser is om mee te rijden dan de vorige. Dat hebben ze goed weten te vangen in de nieuwe Formule 1-game. Ik denk dat gamers veel plezier zullen beleven aan het rijden met de nieuwe bolides in F1 2017."

"Het was ook een leuke ervaring om enkele hoofdstukken uit het roemruchte verleden van McLaren te herleven door middel van de historische wagens van het team die in het spel zijn opgenomen. De klassiekers uit 1988, 1991, 1998 en 2008 hebben allemaal titels gewonnen. De auto uit 2008 produceert enorm veel downforce, het is leuk om daarmee over het asfalt te scheuren. Die klassieke wagens vormen de kers op de taart in deze game."
