Sergio Perez: "Wijziging aanpak zorgde voor slecht resultaat kwalificatie"

Waar teamgenoot Esteban Ocon schitterde met een zesde plaats, baalde thuisrijder Sergio Perez na een tiende tijd in de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Mexico. Volgens Perez koost Force India ervoor de aanpak gedurende de sessie te wijzigen en dat pakte niet goed uit voor de Mexicaan.

Perez scoorde in de voorgaande edities van de Grand Prix van Mexico punten, maar wil het beter doen voor zijn thuispubliek: "In Q1 liep alles op rolletjes, maar na een wijziging van aanpak ging het al minder in het tweede deel van de kwalificatie. In het beslissende deel kon ik geen extra tijd meer vinden en daardoor start ik de race slechts als tiende. Hopelijk lukt het ons om in de race wat verder naar voren te komen."

Ocon is gewoon beter, sergio. En dat is een feit. Je moet je zelf gaan herpakken, dat wordt zwaar genoeg tegen Ocon, top rijder ook.
