Haas F1: "Geen slechte, maar ook geen perfecte dag"

Haas F1 Team zou zich dit weekend in Australië zomaar in de strijd om de plekken zeven tot en met tien kunnen mengen. Dat bewees Romain Grosjean vandaag met zijn snelheid tijdens de vrije trainingen op het circuit van Albert Park in Melbourne. Teamgenoot Kevin Magnussen had iets meer moeite om op dreef te raken, maar ook hij sloot de tweede sessie af in de top tien.

Teambaas Günther Steiner wil echter niet te hard van stapel lopen. "Het was geen slechte, maar zeker ook geen perfecte dag. We hadden wat kleine problemen aan de auto van Kevin tijdens de eerste training en die speelden ons ook in de tweede training nog wat parten. Aan het einde stonden we er niet verkeerd voor. We hebben redelijk in de smiezen waar we toe in staat zijn. We hebben werk te doen voor morgen, maar dan verandert alles weer gezien de voorspelde regen."

Grosjean heeft het naar zijn zin gehad vandaag. "Het was een goede dag. Ik ben blij met de auto en het team heeft geweldig werk geleverd om alles in gereedheid te brengen. We hebben een succesvolle voorbereiding achter de rug en het is fijn om te bevestigen dat de wagen zich ook op een ander circuit onder andere temperaturen staande weet te houden. Het is nog vroeg en we moeten blijven werken. Er zijn aspecten voor verbetering vatbaar, maar over het algemeen ben ik tevreden."

Leuk toch dat Haas zo verrast. Je denkt het wordt FI of Toro Rosso, maar die vallen behoorlijk tegen.
