Pech van Haas F1 is het geluk van McLaren en Renault

De strijd om de vierde plek bij de constructeurs gaat vooralsnog tussen Haas F1 Team, McLaren en Renault. Vooral de rol van Haas F1 is daarin opvallend. De Amerikaanse renstal is pas bezig aan haar derde seizoen in de Formule 1, maar knokt nu al met grootmachten als McLaren en Renault om de eer van beste van de rest. In dat gevecht zit het Haas F1 tot nu toe niet echt mee.

De Amerikaanse renstal had in Australië bijvoorbeeld de beste papieren achter de top drie, maar het team hielp zelf een topresultaat om zeep met twee verknoeide pitstops. Nadien heeft Kevin Magnussen wel twee keer punten gescoord in Bahrein en China, maar vooral Romain Grosjean blijft nog een beetje achter. En het geluk moet Haas F1 ook eens toelachen.

Dat vindt teambaas Günther Steiner. Hij vertelde aan Autosport: "Op dit moment gaat het tussen McLaren, Renault en ons om de vierde plaats. Het plaatje is helder en ik hoop dat we onze snelheid om weten te zetten in klinkende resultaten, want tot nu toe zijn wij een beetje ongelukkig geweest en de andere twee teams juist gelukkig. We moeten ons eigen geluk ook zelf afdwingen. Australië was niet geweldig en anders zouden we staan waar we horen te staan."

"We moeten blijven doen wat we doen. Elke race leren we weer bij over de banden en we hebben upgrades gepland voor de auto. Het hele plan is anders dan vorig jaar. Toen hadden we niet veel updates omdat we besloten hadden om de focus snel te verschuiven naar dit seizoen. Nu kiezen we ervoor om meer updates aan te voeren. Dan gaat het erom hoe goed die updates zijn, maar ook hoe goed de updates van onze concurrenten zijn."

  Dat is wel erg kort door de bocht Alonso fan..
  Bij mij is de gun factor er ook zeker voor haas!
  
  McLaren gun ik het eigenlijk nog het minst na dat ze zo hoog van de toren hebben geblazen......

  Voor mij ook, vind het helemaal niet erg dat Haas met een halve Ferrari rondrijdt. Ik gun McLaren overigens ook wel betere resultaten dan afgelopen jaren, maar zou het wel mooi vinden als Haas 4e wordt. Dat zou andere teams met vergelijkbaar budget aan het denken moeten zetten.

  Ik had het Haas ook meer gegund als ze het meer op eigen kracht hadden gerealiseerd, nu zijn de invloeden van Ferrari wel erg groot. Wat overigens niet verboden is ofzo dus niet fout wat zij doen.
  
  Word hoe dan ook een spannende strijd om plek 4, waarbij ik wel denk dat Haas het ontwikkelingsgeweld van grote teams als een Mclaren en Renault gedurende het jaar niet kan volhouden en iets terug zal gaan zakken.

  Voor blijven? Het is McLaren die voor Haas staat in de stand. En gewoon terecht, het is Haas team zelf die de foute pitstops hebben gemaakt en het is Grosjean zelf die het niet voor elkaar krijgt om punten te pakken. Ik gun elk team de punten die ze pakken maar ook fouten maken ze zelf. Het is niet de schuld van andere teams en zeker niet van McLaren dat Haas punten laat liggen.

Ik denk dat ze zichzelf wel ook wat overschatten nu....
Waar rook is is vuur en dat de Haas veel F.....-componenten overgenomen heeft zal best waarheid bevatten.
