Kevin Magnussen heeft veel meer vertrouwen in auto dan vorig jaar

Haas-coureur Kevin Magnussen kent een sterke start van het seizoen. De Deen scoorde in twee van de drie verreden races punten en hoopt ook in Bakoe sterk voor de dag te komen. Magnussen mocht gisteren aanschuiven bij de traditionele persconferentie voorafgaand aan het weekend in Azerbeidzjan en liet weten dat hij zijn auto veel meer vertrouwt dan vorig seizoen.

"Of we deze vorm gaan vasthouden is afwachten, maar we weten zeker dat de auto beter is dan vorig jaar. Een stabiele achterkant van de auto is erg belangrijk voor het vertrouwen in de auto en ik heb dat gevoel. Het is ook fijn om een weekend in te gaan waarin je weet dat er een goede kans is op punten. Vorig jaar was het ieder weekend weer afwachten hoe sterk we waren", aldus Magnussen in de officële persconferentie.

Magnussen heeft na drie races elf punten op zak. Dat hadden er meer kunnen zijn wanneer de pitstops bij Haas in de openingsrace in Melbourne niet zo dramatisch waren verlopen. Magnussen reed voor zijn uitvallen in Melbourne op de vierde plaats, voor Red Bull-coureur Max Verstappen.
