Kubica erkent 'comfortproblemen' bij Williams-rijders

Williams-reserve Robert Kubica heeft toegegeven dat vaste rijders Lance Stroll en Sergey Sirotkin meer problemen ondervinden aan hun auto dan slechts een gebrek aan snelheid. In Barcelona klaagde Sirotkin over 'stoelcomfort' en blijkbaar ondervindt Stroll hetzelfde probleem. 

"Laat ik het zo formuleren zodat ik niemand kwaad maak; het probleem zit hem in het stoelcomfort", aldus Sirotkin over zijn problemen in de auto. Kubica heeft zelf ook enige ervaring opgedaan in de Williams en de pool erkent dat er meer aan de hand is dan alleen snelheidsproblemen.

"We hebben weinig comfort in de auto, maar dat is al sinds november bekend", aldus Kubica tegenover Eleven Sports. "Problemen moeten echter gedurende de winter verholpen worden, in plaats van pretenderen dat alles in orde is om zo politiek correct over te komen."

Toch wil Kubica niet te veel informatie over de problemen prijsgeven. "ik rijd niet, dus ik heb er niet veel meer aan toe te voegen", besluit de enkelvoudig Grand Prix-winnaar zijn verhaal.

      Als het dan toch te warm wordt is mijn logica: gas erop want je bent dan sneller aan de finish. Ben je er ook weer snel vanaf. Nu genieten ze er blijkbaar van..

    Toch doet zo langzamerhand Kubica Williams meer kwaad dan goed. Hij stelt zich vaak negatief op en valt daarmee, ook al is het misschien onbedoeld, Williams publiekelijk af.

      Williams is al een tijd zelfs niet meer de schim van wat het vroeger was.
      Het probleem zit veel dieper dan wat Kubica laat uitschijnen.
      Sirotkin en Stroll zijn daar niet de oorzaak van, wel het slachtoffer.

      Maar Stroll is de vaste rijder @Maxiaans. Dat een testrijder dat doet is verbazingwekkend.
      En Williams heeft als enige probleem dat de FW41 niet functioneert zoals het bedoeld is. Zodra dat opgelost is, zijn ze sneller en verdwijnen dit soort randzaken ook naar de achtergrond. Het is jammer dat Williams nu in de hoek zit waar de klappen vallen. Maar was dit niet het geval geweest, dan was de kritiek op Williams en haar rijders ook niet zo groot geweest. Enfin, het is hoe het is.

      Ik vind dat Kubica juist goede kritiek levert. Hij is eerlijk en geeft aan waar de pijnpunten zitten zonder daarmee Williams af te vallen of in diskrediet te brengen. Hij kan tenslotte niet zeggen dat de auto perfect is, dan valt de hele wereld al helemaal over Stroll en Sirotkin. Niets zeggen zou voor zo'n veteraan helemaal gek zijn.

      Eerlijk gezegd denk ik dat hij juist toestemming heeft van Williams. Williams is ervan overtuigd dat het probleem hoofdzakelijk bij de auto ligt en niet zozeer bij de rijders. Wanneer er niets gezegd wordt gaat iedereen zich focussen op de rijders, zeker omdat er aan hen al redelijk getwijfeld wordt.

    Ahhh, de heren willen graag stoelverwarming, geperforeerd leer, ventilatie en graag een massage functie in hun zetel hebben. (Althans dat lees ik onder comfort), Ja, daar ga je inderdaad een stuk harder mee rijden.

    Stroll rijdt zijn vleugel en band aan gort en zegt dan niet te weten wat er aan de auto scheelt....Comfort lijkt me wel het laatste probleem bij Williams

    Tja, als je zoveel geld betaalt zoals Stroll en Sirotkin dan verwacht je wel een first class stoel van alle comfort voorzien. Niet zo'n economy seat zoals ze nu hebben gekregen.
