Reprimande voor Carlos Sainz na actie op Ocon in eerste ronde

Voor het team van Renault liep de Grand Prix van Oostenrijk uit op een teleurstelling. Nico Hülkenberg viel al vroeg in de race uit met een motorprobleem, terwijl Carlos Sainz aan het einde van de race niets meer kon uitrichten op versleten banden. Tot overmaat van ramp kreeg de Spanjaard ook nog een reprimande vanwege een actie op Force India-coureur Esteban Ocon in de eerste ronde.

De wedstrijdleiding onderzocht het incident tussen beide coureurs en komt tot de conclusie dat Sainz schuldig is. De Spanjaard ging van de baan in de derde bocht, kwam zij en zij met Ocon te rijden richting de vierde bocht en bewoog onnodig naar rechts om zijn positie te verdedigen. Wanneer Sainz drie waarschuwingen krijgt binnen het huidige seizoen dan volgt automatisch een gridstraf van drie plaatsen.

    Beetje late reprimande. Los het in de race op met 5 of 10 seconden, dan is het klaar.

      Die spaarkaart ben ik ook geen fan van. Gelijk straffen. En Sainz die had weer eens een dramatisch weekend. De Renault was niet goed hier en Sainz al helemaal niet... als de geruchten kloppen dan tekent Ricciardo bij bij Red Bull en Renault wil heeeel graag een Fransman aan het stuur en heeft zich bij Mercedes en Ocon’s management gemeld of een overstap van Ocon naar Renault mogelijk is. Dat betekend exit Sainz uit de formule 1? Of wellicht hebben ze bij Force India dan een plekje voor hem? Ze gaan hem echt niet terugzetten in de STR...

      @Freek-Willem: klopt hij is beter dan Hartley, maar het is al bekend dat Gasly nog een seizoen mag blijven en waarschijnlijk komt er een Honda talent naast hem te rijden. Dus geen plek voor Sainz

      @Rogier hier SAI is dit seizoen gelijkwaardig aan HUL aan het worden getuige laatste races. Dus snap niets van deze SAI hetze.

      @Farsteps: ik vind Sainz helemáál niet gelijkwaardig aan de Hulk. Hij staat enkel zo dicht op de Hulk dankzij de DNF’s van de Hulk. Op eigen kracht komt hij de Hulk meestal niet voorbij. Of enkel in de kwali om vervolgens in de race weer achter de Hulk te eindigen. Sainz kan zich niet meer verschuilen (vind ik) achter het feit dat hij nieuw is bij Renault. De Hulk is hem gewoon een maatje te groot. Geen schande want de Hulk is ook gewoon goed. Wanneer Renault het voor elkaar krijgt om Ocon los te weken bij Mercedes, dan houd het denk ik op voor Sainz bij Red Bull en mag hij hopen dat er nog ergens een zitje (Force India, Haas, McLaren) voor hem is.

    Goh, had ik nog iemand gezien die veel te wijd ging in bocht 2 en daarna degene die naast hem zat bij het weer terugkeren op de baan helemaal naar rechts en het gras op dwong?

    Ik moet me vergist hebben, want die gast kreeg geen straf.
