Alonso hoopt op meer geluk in laatste twee races

Fernando Alonso heeft toegegeven dat hij emotioneel was na zijn vroege uitvalbeurt in de Grand Prix van Mexico. Onderdelen van de auto van Esteban Ocon, kwamen in de auto van de Spanjaard terecht, waardoor Alonso genoodzaakt was om zijn auto aan de kant te zetten. 

"Het voelde niet echt alsof er iets mis was met de auto, maar blijkbaar kwamen er wat brokstukken van de auto van Ocon tegen de verkeerde plekken van mijn auto aan en dat zorgde waarschijnlijk voor mijn uitvalbeurt. De kans dat zoiets gebeurt is één op een miljoen, maar het overkwam ons."

"Dat is jammer, aangezien ik deze race graag had willen uitrijden. Maar ik heb goede herinneringen aan afgelopen zondag, want het is best emotioneel geweest met alle support van al die geweldige Mexicaanse fans. Ik had geen geluk, maar die dingen gebeuren. Hopelijk hebben we in de laatste twee races wat meer geluk en zien we dan wel de zwart/wit geblokte vlag", is de Spanjaard hoopvol.

      Mee eens Damon...al denk ik dat de enige mogelijkheid voor hem om punten te scoren een regenrace in Brazilië zal zijn.

      Ook voor een ragenrace heb je een goede auto nodig, het zou bijzonder knap zijn als Alonso de MCL33 in Brazilie in de regen in de punten krijgt.

    Vreemd, kans van 1 op de miljoen... Volgens mij gebeurd het toch met enige regelmaat, ellende door materiaal (brokstukken,debris) van een andere auto...

      Het gebeurt zeker veel vaker dat er brokstukken van andere auto's terecht komen in/op andere auto's, maar meestal kunnen die doorrijden tot in de pitstraat deze stukken verwijderd worden en de auto verder kan, maar dat de auto er binnen korte tijd door aan de kant gezet moet worden gebeurt minder, denk dat Alonso dat bedoelde.

      Denk dat Alonso bedoeld de kans dat een vitaal deel van de aandrijving of koeling zodanig wordt geraakt door een stuk carbon dat een beschadiging ontstaat en een DNF. Lekrijden op de scherpe carbondelen gebeurt inderdaad vaker. Voor Max, Lewis en Fernando te hopen dat we een natte kwalificatie en race krijgen op Interlagos. Dan kunnen ze zich onderscheiden.
