Het team van Williams is waarschijnlijk blij dat er aankomend weekend een einde komt aan het Formule 1-seizoen 2018. Het Britse team kon dit jaar geen potten breken en met nog één race te gaan is het alleen statistisch nog mogelijk om van de laatste plek af te komen bij de constructeurs. Er werden pas zeven punten verzameld.

"Ik denk dat het een goede race is om mee te eindigen. We rijden de nacht tegemoet en dat is echt gaaf. Het is best spectaculair wat ze met de locatie hebben gedaan en het is hoe dan ook uniek. Het circuit zelf is niet mijn favoriet, aangezien het veel 'stop and go' is en het is niet heel vloeiend. Buiten dat om is de show echter wel goed voor de fans. Voor ons als rijders maakt het niet echt een verschil of het dag of nacht is, aangezien wij gewoon gas moeten geven", zegt Lance Stroll.

Sergey Sirotkin rijdt in Abu Dhabi waarschijnlijk zijn laatste race. "Ik heb goede herinneringen aan Abu Dhabi, aangezien ik hier vorig jaar in een test debuteerde voor Williams. Het circuit is uitdagend en de gehele ronde, met een zware derde sector, vereist een goed bandenmanagement"

"De ronde bestaat veelal uit langzame bochten en het is jammer dat er niet zoveel hogesnelheidsbochten zijn. De derde sector is lastiger dan hij lijkt, maar over het algemeen kijk ik heel erg uit om terug te keren naar Abu Dhabi. Het is een geweldige race om mee te eindigen."

Volgens mij heeft Stroll maar 1 baan die jij leuk vind, Monza. Verder lees ik nooit dat een baan hem bevalt, al helemaal niet als het een technische baan is....

  Ik las ergens dat L. Stroll zijn droombaan een lap asfalt was van 4 kilometer lang..1 kombocht..4 km terug en weer een kombocht

Ik vind t circuit zelf ook maar wat te perfect. Alle 90 graden bochten zijn ook echt perfect 90 graden en wordt niet smaller of breder. Er mag wel iets extra's bij. Een kombocht maken van bocht 7 zou leuk zijn. Een hellingshoekje van 30 graden ofzo. Dit soort dingen zie je gewoon niet meer en dus zou t leuk zijn om weer eens te zien. Plus een kombocht heeft altijd meerdere lijnen die mogelijk zijn en bevorderd de topsnelheid voor het aankomende rechte stuk.

  Gezien de huidige down force levels zijn kombochten niet te rijden. De auto zou zo heftig op het asfalt gedrukt worden dat voorwaartse snelheid sterk verminderd.
