Balende Perez ontevreden over openingsdag

SportPesa Racing Point kende een 'mixed-feelings' dag. Sergio Perez was ontevreden over de auto en denkt dat er nog heel veel werk te doen is. Lance Stroll was iets positiever gestemd. Perez zou blij zijn als het team zou kunnen vechten voor de punten dit weekend.

Op de vraag hoe zijn eerste dag voelde antwoordde Perez: "Die was niet geweldig, het was helemaal niet goed. We moeten echt heel veel werk doen en zorgen dat we alles voor elkaar krijgen morgen. Het is heel erg close in het middenveld. Alles wat wij kunnen vinden zal ons helpen."

Perez legde daarna uit wat de problemen waren aan de RP19: "Het is een balansprobleem en een bandenprobleem. Daardoor is het een groot probleem. De baantemperatuur in de ochtend was te koud en in de te middag warm. Het is ook moeilijk rijden met de sterke wind, dus we hebben vanavond nog veel werk te doen."

"Ik kan niet direct zeggen waar we staan. Ik denk dat we blij mogen zijn met de positie waar Lance vandaag is gefinisht", besloot de Mexicaan.

Teamgenoot Lance Stroll was positiever: "Het is nog vroeg dag en we hebben morgen nog een sessie voor de kwalificatie. Het is close in het middenveld. Elke tiende telt maar een goede start is belangrijk. Het gaat interessant worden of we voor de punten kunnen vechten. We moeten hard werken en dan kijken we morgen wel."

De Canadees gaf aan dat de auto anders is dan in Barcelona: "De baan is anders ook dan in Barcelona. Deze is hobbelig en er staat veel wind. Het is ook warmer. Er zijn verschillen. De auto voelt over het algemeen goed aan. De ingrediënten zijn aanwezig en wij moeten wat aanpassingen doen om hem beter te laten werken. Ik denk dat we in gevecht kunnen voor de punten."

"Het is geweldig om in de blauw-roze auto te rijden. Het is echt geweldig om achter het stuur te zitten", besloot de nieuwe Racing Point-coureur.

* Sergio Perez reed vandaag 55 ronden en kwam tot een snelste tijd van 1:24.401. De Mexicaan finishte hiermee de dag als zestiende op 1.801 seconden van de snelste tijd.

* Lance Stroll reed vandaag 64 ronden en kwam tot een snelste rijd van 1:24.011. De Canadees finishte hiermee de dag als dertiende op 1.411 seconden van de snelste tijd.

Je vindt het niet leuk dat men (Naldor) een geintje maakt over Pappie Stroll, maar dan noem je Perez wel een Tacovreter..... Beetje hypocriet vind je niet???

weggereden door Stroll. Papa Stroll maakt de auto van Perez gewoon 20kg zwaarder om Lance beter te laten lijken ;-)

  Kap daar nou maar eens mee... Ik roep al tijden dat Stroll zwaar onderschat word en dat gaan we dan hopelijk zien in het vergelijk met die Tacovreter die zichzelf latijd zo vreselijk goed vind.
  
  Ik ben best benieuwd en geloof niet dat Stroll zal worden voorgetrokken ondanks dat idee hier nogal een populaire is. We gaan het zien!

  Mario, volledig met je eens. Wie weet is Perez veel meer een liefhebber van nacho's.
  Dat geintje van Naldor gebeurt wel te veel. Ja Stroll was beschamend de eerste races van 2017, maar de knul heeft talent zat om hier te rijden. De ene auto 20 kilo zwaarder maken dan de ander valt de FIA ook wel op en zou zeker gezien worden als sport fraude. Houdt t wel een beetje rieel :)

  Die jongen kan rijden , maar had nog een jaar F2 moeten rijden. Wist soms totaal niet waarmee hij bezig was.

  Ook in 2018 was Stroll waardeloos, en op zaterdag veel te vaak langzamer dan Sirotkin. Of is Sirotkin zo een mega talent?
  
  Ik ben totaal geen complot denken maar als Stroll regelmatig Perez gaat verslaan (een ervaren coureur die gelijkwaardig is aan Hülkenberg) klopt er idd echt iets niet binnen het team. Want rara wie is eigenaar? Idd, de vader van Stroll... die zo een beetje alle successen heeft gekocht voor zijn zoon.
  
  Stroll kan echt wel een beetje rijden, maar is totaal geen talent en is in 2 jaar tijd al vaak door de mand gevallen qua snelheid en onkunde. Want nogmaals.... waarom is rookie Sirotkin dan zo vaak sneller geweest?

Iedereen heeft zo zijn voorkeuren, ik vind het ook een rijkeluis kind die Lance, voor de rest ik let zo min mogelijk op hem.
