Racing Point presenteert nieuwe bolide op 17 februari in Oostenrijk

Er begint zich steeds meer een gevuld schema te vormen voor de presentatie van de F1-bolides voor 2020. Racing Point is het volgende team dat een datum geprikt heeft: op 17 februari gaat het doek van de nieuwe auto.

De presentatie van het nieuwe strijdwapen van Sergio Perez en Lance Stroll vindt plaats in het Oostenrijkse plaatsje Mondsee. Dat is de uitvalsbasis van BWT, een van de hoofdsponsoren van het Canadese team. Op 17 februari wordt de nieuwe auto onthuld en slechts twee dagen later worden beide coureurs alweer op Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya verwacht voor de eerste week van de wintertests.

Racing Point gaat beginnen aan haar tweede volledige seizoen in de Formule 1. Halverwege 2018 nam een consortium onder leiding van Lawrence Stroll, de vader van coureur Lance, het in financiële problemen verkerende Force India over, waarna dus de naamswijziging naar Racing Point volgde. Vorig seizoen presenteerde het team haar eerste bolide nog in het Canadese Toronto.

In 2019 werd Racing Point zevende in het kampioenschap voor constructeurs, waarbij het team duidelijk de gevolgen leek te merken van de financiële malaise van 2018. Voor 2020 is het doel duidelijk: de weg omhoog moet weer gevonden worden en dus moet er meer in zitten dan de zevende plaats in het kampioenschap.

RedBull vind ik altijd gebakken lucht omdat er altijd een launch livery is.
Met andere woorden, ,,Dames en heren, bij deze de auto waarmee wij nièt gaan rijden. Zowel qua aeropakket als livery..
