Haas F1 Team met rijders in gesprek over salarisverlaging

Haas F1 Team praat met coureurs Kevin Magnussen en Romain Grosjean over een tijdelijke salarisverlaging. De Amerikaanse renstal moet net als veel andere teams snijden in de kosten nu het racen stilligt en de inkomstenstroom is opgedroogd. Een van de kostenposten waarop Haas F1 kan besparen is het loon voor de twee rijders.

Magnussen en Grosjean namen daar zelf het initiatief toe, verkondigt teambaas Günther Steiner op Motorsport-Magazin.com. "Zij kwamen naar ons toe om aan te geven dat we het moesten laten weten als we iets van hen nodig zouden hebben. Dus we zijn nu in gesprek om hun salarissen tijdelijk naar beneden bij te stellen. Ze zijn zich bewust van onze situatie."

"We hebben nog geen details, maar ze zijn bereid geld in te leveren. We werken nu alle mogelijke scenario's uit in de wetenschap dat onze coureurs willen helpen. Dat is cool, maar we gaan eerst de details uitwerken. We kunnen niet drie maanden op dezelfde manier doorgaan als we geen inkomsten hebben. Sommige teams kunnen dat misschien wel, maar wij niet."
